WELLNESS-ANTI-ANTI+ Participative Sweat-hut performance
WELLNESS-ANTI-ANTI+ is an abstracted Brechelbad – a communal place where one can sweat, labor, and rest together. Since the 13th century, the Brechelbad served in Alpine regions as a space for breaking and processing flax fibers for linen production. Beyond that, the building—with its shared fireplace—offered room for many other things: baking bread, drying fruit, or communal sweating. This multipurpose use made the Brechelbad an important meeting point – a place of exchange and participation. The reinterpreted Brechelbad in Flachau is now a large, steaming pile of woodchips, a place we inhabit together. Who hasn't dreamed of a holiday in a compost heap? WELLNESS-ANTI-ANTI+ makes it possible. The microorganisms do the work for us – they generate the heat. Instead of flax, we process nettle fibers. With this project, the collective AestheticsAthletics+ questions traditional notions of ownership and labor, and celebrates communal sweating, softening, and becoming fragile – open and without hardness. We want everything wrapped in damp cloths.

WELLNESS-ANTI-ANTI+ Partizipative Schwitzhütten-Performance
WELLNESS-ANTI-ANTI+ ist ein abstrahiertes Brechelbad – ein gemeinschaftlicher Ort, an dem geschwitzt, gehackelt und geruht werden darf. Das Brechelbad diente im Alpenraum seit dem 13. Jahrhundert dem Aufbrechen und der Weiterverarbeitung von Flachsfasern zur Leinenherstellung. Darüber hinaus bot das Gebäude mit seiner gemeinsam genutzten Feuerstelle Raum für vieles andere: Brotbacken, Obsttrocknen oder gemeinsames Schwitzen. Diese Mehrfachnutzung machte das Brechelbad zu einem wichtigen Treffpunkt – einem Ort des Austauschs und der Teilhabe. Das neu interpretierte Brechelbad in Flachau ist nun ein großer, dampfender Haufen aus Hackschnitzeln, in dem wir uns gemeinsam aufhalten. Wer wollte nicht schon einmal Urlaub im Komposthaufen machen? WELLNESS-ANTI-ANTI+ macht's möglich. Die Mikroorganismen übernehmen die Arbeit – sie erzeugen für uns Wärme. Statt Flachs brecheln wir Brennnesselfasern. Mit dieser Arbeit hinterfragt das Kollektiv AestheticsAthletics+ traditionelle Besitz- und Arbeitsverhältnisse und feiert das gemeinsame Schwitzen, Weichwerden und Zerbrechlichwerden – offen und ohne Härte. Wir wollen alles in feuchten Tüchern haben.
