A firework explodes in a glasshouse. Instead of plants, colourful tentacles spear out within seconds and dissolve immediately into smoke. Not in the vastness of the sky, but isolated within a greenhouse the rocket frenzy is raging. The power of the image resides not in the vast sprawl, but rather within its spatial limitations. Since the early middle ages Flachau had been a place of iron melting, yet this identity was lost in 1866 when the last blast furnace was demolished. The work FIZZ! WHIZZ! BUM! brings the blazing element back into Flachau and celebrates the blast furnace tamed in a glass house.
