Film auf Schnee. A temporary nature cinema rises in the Flachau mountain landscape in the middle of winter. Short combinations of selected films fall on snow. The light cone of the 16mm projector paves its way through the night on a plastic "canvas". In the rhythm of the recordings and the mechanical projection, black and white and colored images of nature and architecture, people and animals, light and shadow appear and disappear. Will they stand out from the snow or merge with it? Will its crystals sparkle and play with the grain of the filmstrip? Will the mechanical projector noise get lost in silence or merge with unexpected sounds? Will the moon and stars watch?
Helga Fanderl has been making short films without sound in the Super 8 camera since 1986. She is happy to show her programs herself, which become a temporary film for the duration of a performance, and also presents the films in installations and exhibitions.
